International Men’s Day

This week marks International Men’s Day; an event celebrated by men, women and organisations in over 60 countries across the globe, on November 19th.

The date coincides with the birthday of the father of Dr Jerome Teelucksingh, a doctor from Trinidad and Tobago who relaunched International Men’s Day in 1999.

The aim of International Men’s Day is to celebrate positive male role models and to raise awareness of men’s issues which are often overlooked.

Why November?

Why was November chosen as the lucky month to host this special day? November is already an important month as it gathers several events that are important to men including Movember and International Children’s day. This interesting event forms 48 hours of celebration for men and children, and the special relationship they share.

Celebrating International Men’s Day at Compliant

Here at Compliant we’re celebrating our very own Director and Lead Auditor, Mark Henderson. Mark set up Compliant in 2017 with the aim of supporting businesses, nationwide to become ISO certified.

He is a BSI Trained Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety and ISO 27001:2017 Information Security.

In addition, he is NEBOSH trained in Health and Safety and Fire Safety and IOSH Technical trained.

Mark has progressed with this group of qualifications to better serve clients and ensure that recommendations are only given after a thorough and professional audit. He is committed to helping businesses to improve their own service delivery.

Unlike comparable businesses, the ISO certifications offered by Compliant are all UKAS accredited. The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the sole national accreditation body for the United Kingdom.

UKAS accredits certification bodies against the requirements of ISO Conformity assessment – requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems to deliver a range of management system certification programmes. One of these bodies is Quality Management Systems Certification (QMS).

Continuing to Grow and Serve Clients

Mark continues with his personal development in a quest to ensure that Compliant offers the highest quality of certification and ongoing support. Current qualifications that he is undertaking include NEBOSH Environmental, NEBOSH Construction Health and Safety and BSI Trained Lead Auditor ISO 22301:2019. Well done Mark!
