Case Study: The Talking Trust

The Talking Trust provides day and residential education, therapy and care for children and young adults
from ages 7 to 25 with speech, language and communication difficulties and other complex needs. It’s
facilities include seven residential buildings, main school campus, college, sports complex and vocational
centre.

Compliant FM were appointed to assess and support the senior leadership team improve estates and
safety management onsite. Recent OFSTED reports eluded to poor compliance management and gaps
within fire prevention and risk management.

As part of our service we conducted a full safety audit and provided the trust with an action plan to ensure
they could apply the appropriate resources to close the gaps identified. Post the development of
the action plan Compliant FM were appointed as their retained service provider, providing the following
services:

3. Asbestos Management

4. Legionella Management

5. Ofsted and Insurance Liaison

6. Weekly Reporting

7. Accident and Incident Investigation

Over the course of our service delivery, The Talking Trust has seen significant improvements in their compliance
scoring with a greater attitude toward the Trust’s health and safety compliance. Staff now feel
empowered to drive a positive health and safety culture and understand the value of on-going training.

Moving forward through active monitoring and support, Compliant FM will be continuously assessing the
Trusts ongoing compliance and providing policy and procedure revision and implementation.
