Blue Telecoms successfully achieves ISO 27001 with support from Compliant.

Why did Blue Telecoms initially decide to invest in ISO?

Speaking with Richard we asked why the company initially decided to invest in the ISO 27001 and why they chose Compliant. Richard stated that he was driven by his clients who were asking if they had 27001 so felt the business was ready to gain its ISO Certification and could assure his clients of their security. Richard was very happy with the meeting he had with Mark the director of Compliant he explained in depth the process, the time scale, the costings, and the whole process was made very easy to procced with.

The Process

As discussed with Yvonne post certification, Compliant are putting in place a regular catch-up meeting to just touch base with the aim to make the reassessment less daunting. By doing things bit by bit over the year, it will put a lot less pressure on us as a business. I can’t stress how important this is. 

Let’s be fair it’s a difficult/daunting journey to navigate. In 2022, when we decided to bite the bullet and apply for ISO, we were a little hesitant about the volume of work that might come down on a few individuals (me). Mark and the team take that worry and pressure away so we could continue to do our job. If we were stuck, we simply emailed, and his team would come back immediately. 

The Outcome

Also – don’t be afraid to ask whether we as a business have considered different ISO/Compliance. For example, we are ISO27001 certified for Blue Telecoms. But our other business is Blue Electrics. Since engaging with you, on the off chance I googled to see if you do support for MCS and PAS certifications – and you do!! Thankfully we are hoping to go down PAS route shortly. There are many ISO / compliance certifications. It would be good to have a breakdown of each and working out what would work well for each business. Is ISO45001 relevant etc… I’d also suggest a monthly/quarterly email – what exactly does ISO27001:2022 transition mean? what’s the difference between that and 2017? what’s top tips are other businesses doing etc. Introduce the team! 🙂
