Why Axada decided to invest in ISO 9001 and ISO 27001

Modern and innovative accountancy practice and tax consultancy Axada decided to invest in quality and information security standards ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 last year.

The London-based business offers niche tax advisory services with a particular emphasis on VAT consultancy, payroll, year-end accounts and providing multi-lingual inward investment advice.

We caught up with Axada’s Director to congratulate them on the business’ recent certification and discover why they decided to invest in ISO.

“Our business helps overseas companies expand their operations into the UK and offers support with international tax issues.

Handling a large amount of confidential data, information security is a key part of our operations, it is therefore essential for us to continually invest in robust information security and quality standards. We wanted to have an independent certification to give our clients confidence in our services. Our clients are based globally, so it was important for us to have a certification that was recognised globally.

We started exploring how we could complete ISO certification ourselves but decided quite quickly that we needed some guidance. We reached out the British Assessment Bureau and they introduced us to Mark from Compliant.”

The Process

After initial introductions and meetings, Compliant set about developing a bespoke, integrated management system for Axada. This system includes a blend of new processes, procedures and policies and existing ones that Axada already had in place.

As part of the Compliant process we review any existing processes and documents that clients already have in place and build a system that is truly unique to that business.

The Outcome

Axada’s Director went onto explain “We strive to offer a high-quality service and continually aim to improve systems and reduce risk. Going through the ISO certification process and now being certified as having an effective integrated management system will help us achieve this.”
