SITE VISIT: Japan House London
Earlier this month we had the pleasure of taking part in client site visit at Japan House London, the cultural home of Japan in London. Japan House London achieved ISO 9001 in 2021 with Compliant’s support.
Site visit to Japan House London
Japan House London achieved ISO 9001 with Compliant back in 2021 and sailed through their 2022 surveillance just last week. Another successful surveillance audit to retain certification.
The organisation is part of a global initiative led by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with two other Japan Houses based in Los Angeles and São Paulo.
Located on London’s Kensington High Street, the experience is an authentic encounter with Japan, engaging and surprising even the most knowledgeable guests.
Compliant Director, Mark Henderson and Digital Marketing and Internal Audit Manager, Danielle Barry caught up with Daniel May and Catherine Corpuz from Japan House London to take part in an exclusive site tour.
Danielle described “Head of Building Services, Dan and Building Coordinator, Catherine kindly showed us around the impressive Kensington premises just last week. From the moment that you enter the building you are astounded. The entire space is slick and ultra-modern but still manages to feel warm and welcoming.
The inviting atmosphere is enhanced by the innovation and technology used throughout, and the building seems to extend beyond what is visible from the outside.
This imaginative space includes is a takeaway café stand at the entrance, a Michelin-listed, Japanese restaurant; AKIRA (named after Chef Shimizu Akira), a gallery style shop and a range of free events and exhibitions (one of which we were lucky enough to catch the end of).
It’s great to get out and visit clients and see first-hand how impressive the products and services they deliver truly are. We’ll be back again soon.”
Mark Henderson went on to explain “Firstly huge congratulations to Japan House London and the team for getting through their ISO 9001 surveillance last week. Part of our site visits included scoping for any issues that auditors may pick up on during audits or surveillances.
The Japan House London premises are not only impressive to the eye but extremely well maintained and we knew there would be no concerns for their surveillance. The minimalistic feel helps to accentuate the space and the dedication from every team member to deliver the highest quality of service made this a very rewarding experience. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this client and look forward to another visit in 2023.”
