Why GMPriority Pharma decided to invest in FSSC 22000 V5.1

GMPriority Pharma is the expert liposome manufacturer behind lipolife liposomal supplements, setting the standard for quality commercial liposomal production.

The Colchester based business is a first-class team of industry professionals with over 35 years of combined expertise in liposome technology, commercial liposomal production, product development and research.

GMPriority Pharma Director, Gareth Meyer explained that the business wanted to put an internationally recognised food standard in place. He described how ISO 22000 fitted well within their structures and would help them to develop as a business.

“Initially we explored cheaper alternatives but found the status that came with an certified version of ISO 22000 FSSC V5.1much more appealing. We wanted to put in place a standard that would set us apart and give us processes and procedures to adhere to.”

The Process

Gareth explained how they were not sure where to start. A simple google search for certification consultants revealed a wealth of information. After exploring the different options and packages available from consultants Gareth described how the detail on the Compliant website resonated with him. He arranged an exploratory meeting with Mark which helped him to understand the Compliant process, which ultimately led to their decision to proceed.

Compliant then produced a bespoke management system for GMPriority Pharma based on templates and the information that Gareth provided. Following this, Compliant assisted the company through their audit days ensuring certification first time.

The Outcome

When asked about the experience with Compliant Gareth explained that “we didn’t have the resource or capacity to implement the certification ourselves. Mark was very enthusiastic and reassuring from the beginning. He made a very difficult task enjoyable and gave us the tools to complete our own system.

He was always easy to get hold of and developed our system in a quick and efficient manner.
