Why Frontline Integrity decided to invest in ISO 9001

Frontline Integrity are an independent pipeline engineering company based in Newcastle upon Tyne providing consultancy and software to support pipeline integrity management within the energy sector.

We interviewed Office Manager, Hannah Kerrigan to hear her thoughts on Frontline’s recent certification;

“We wanted to invest time and money to formalise our quality management system to identify improvements in our internal processes as well as to support business growth.

In March, our Director, Brian informed the company that gaining ISO 9001 certification was a business objective for 2023 after three years in operation. We are very pleased to have achieved it so quickly with the support of Compliant.

The Process

Hannah went on to explain “We had a lot of documentation and processes in place already but Brian asked me to identify local businesses who could support with a gap analysis and further refinement of our quality management system in line with IOS 9001. Following extensive research, we received a number of quotations which varied significantly and discussed our objectives with a number of parties. We were very impressed with the Mark and his team who visited on site to discuss their background and the process which was helpful and the project went from there.

The Outcome

When asked about the experience with Compliant Hannah highlighted that “The process was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Mark was impressed with what we had in place but if we were missing anything, Mark flagged this in the gap analysis and we took an internal action to review”. This made the certification process very straight forward.
