Mark Henderson BA(Hons) Cmgr

Director and Lead Auditor

Mark founded Compliant in 2016 and enjoys working with clients across the UK and Worldwide. The company is certified to UKAS-accredited standards in ISO 9001 Quality, 14001 Environmental, 22301 Business Continuity, 27001 Information Security, and 45001 Occupational Health and Safety. As a BSI-trained Lead Auditor across these same standards, Mark possesses comprehensive knowledge of the ISO process and excels at helping clients achieve certification within agreed timeframes.

Kym Shakesby

Executive PA to the Managing Director

Kym is the Executive PA to Managing Director Mark Henderson, bringing years of experience in Human Resources and Health & Safety within the facilities management industry. Highly skilled in administration and executive support, she ensures seamless and efficient daily operations. Recognised as an organised professional who can effectively multitask with high attention to detail and accuracy, Kym is dedicated and dependable. Her passion lies in curating a relaxed and worry-free experience for our clients as she mentors, guides, and successfully supports them in achieving certification.

Gill Welsh

Senior Sales and Marketing Manager

Gill is Compliant’s Senior Sales and Marketing Manager with 25 years of experience in the property industry, including sales and lettings management, marketing, property sourcing, refurbishment, new build sales, and international student lets. She brings an active approach to Compliant’s sales and marketing department and is known as a pleasure to work with and a great people person. Conscientious and dedicated to achieving high client satisfaction, she strives to provide a smooth and stress-free sales process from start to finish. A very positive individual, Gill also runs a non-profit men’s mental health group in Durham, reflecting her strong commitment to mental health and wellbeing.

Connor Dixon

Sales And Marketing Trainee

Connor graduated with First-Class Honours in Graphic Design from the University of Sunderland. His work has varied. To help him through his studies, Connor undertook design work as a freelancer, receiving work through Social Media within the Esports and Content Creation Industry. This work ranged from creating brand packages, including logos and social assets for websites, to more niche graphics like Twitch emotes, overlays, YouTube thumbnails, and even advertisements for brands and affiliates.
Connor is dedicated to delivering projects with passion, precision, and excellence, ensuring every task is completed beyond expectations. While naturally reserved, he brings a proactive and hardworking attitude to every project. Connor’s hobbies include watching/playing football, playing Dungeons and Dragons, playing video games, going to the cinema, and walking. 

 

Yvonne Aldrige

Senior Operations Manager

Yvonne, our Lead Auditor, brings many years of commercial experience from the highly regulated marine sector and a strong production and operational background in manufacturing. She offers extensive knowledge of ISO standards—including Quality, Environmental, and Health and Safety requirements. Previously, Yvonne was an active committee member for the British Standards Institute (BSi) and International Standard Organisation (ISO) industry boards, as well as a company representative at relevant Trade Bodies. Highly respected and valued, she maintains a strong focus while infusing a hefty dose of humour with both clients and colleagues alike.

Donna Cargill

Key Account Manager

Donna is an accomplished Key Account Manager with over a decade of experience in managing and nurturing high-profile client relationships.  Donna brings years of experience within the civil service and private sector, supporting students applying for university, and 30 years of retail management experience and reviewing needs assessment reports from assessors before sending them to Student Finance England. Donna is an avid Newcastle fan and also enjoys extensive travel she enjoys daily swimming to support her wellbeing and fitness.

Cheryl Davies

Key Account Manager

Cheryl brings extensive experience in managing and nurturing high-profile key accounts, having spent over 15 years in the computer industry dealing with sales order management. She understands her clients’ needs and expectations, resulting in strong, lasting relationships. Her background includes warehouse logistics, stock movement, underwriting new insurance policies for the motor trade and tradesmen, costing, and banking. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys gardening, reading, and building jigsaw puzzles. She has participated in several charity walks—including London ‘Shine’ and Windsor Princess Trust—and has completed a tandem skydive, ticking one off her bucket list.

Ryan McNally

Key Account Manager

At the beginning of his working experience, Ryan served six years as a supply specialist in the British Armed Forces Logistics Core, gaining recognised qualifications in Warehousing and Distribution.
Ryan now comes to Compliant with 26 years of retail management experience.Working his way up from a Saturday contract and then progressing through the internal career path, Ryan has held a variety of roles.From opening new stores to transforming existing stores, he has liaised with key internal and external stakeholders and prioritised quality to ensure the best client journey is always maintained.

 

Ann Corbin

Key Account Manager ISO & PAS

Ann is an accomplished professional with several years of experience in the Compliance and Accreditation retrofit industry. Her expertise spans various PAS standards and a range of accreditations, including Safe Contractor, CHAS, Trustmark, and Achilles. Ann excels in navigating complex regulatory environments, ensuring that organisations meet and exceed compliance requirements. She thrives on working to high standards, has meticulous attention to detail and excellent customer service skills with a background in that sector. She is passionate about travelling and exploring new places and cultures outside her professional life. She also likes spending quality time with her family and walking with her (reluctant) rescue French bulldog.

Our Process

The Gap Analysis

GAP Analysis to do a comparison of actual business performance with the potential or desired performance of a quality management system. It will identify the responsible and relevant persons within the organisation and the companies operational process flows. It will identify the gaps that are required to be satisfied by the ISO Standard.

Documentation and Folder Structure

Develop or enhance an existing management folder structure for document retrieval and versioning. Implement the Integrated Management System (IMS) ensuring complete synergy with the existing system or create a new and more robust version. Identify all interested parties, legislation, risk assessments, plans, process flows and policies. Identify the right UKAS approved certification company.

Assessment
(Stage 1 )

Complete assessment to see all relevant documents relating to the management system are in place. An internal audit is carried out and an agreed scope in preparation for the stage 1 Certification Audit.

Internal Audit

Internal Audit. A full check on all documentation and make sure process flows are accurate and a comprehensive understanding of the IMS to ensure the business meets the requirements of the standard. Check all controls are implemented, maintenances of KPI’s and any corrective actions. Continuous improvement. Meetings with the Management team to ensure compliance and understanding of the requirements in preparation of Stage 2 on site audit.

Assessment ( Stage 2 )

Stage 2 audit at client premises and possibly a site visit if necessary. Certification achieved.

Ongoing  Certification Support

Ongoing Support and Improvement

Periodic maintenance of IMS to ensure all controls continue to be implemented, maintain risk based internal audit to include audit of controls. Complete Management reviews, review KPI’s and corrective actions and continually seek improvement.
